    Yes, every Banana Passion blanket has a TPU waterproof core that blocks 100% of liquid. The large size holds over 1 litre while keeping the surface underneath completely dry.

    What’s the best waterproof blanket for a bed?

    It depends on what you need it for. If you want a blanket you can pull over you as well as the bed, soft and reversible on both sides, and big enough to cover the whole surface go for the XXL Velvety (200×200cm). If you mainly want to protect the mattress with something thin that stays flat and won’t bunch, choose the GripMe; the XL (200×140cm) covers most of a bed. And if a big splash isn’t part of the picture and you just want everyday protection, a Large (140×100cm) in either style does the job.

    Can these blankets be used as a waterproof blanket for bed intimacy?

    Yes, it's what most of our customers use them for. Both the Velvety and GripMe are designed to be discreet: soft and quiet with no plastic crinkle, so nothing interrupts the moment.

    The Velvety has soft, absorbent flannel fleece on both sides and doubles as a throw afterwards. The GripMe has silicone dots on the back so it stays put. Both hold over a litre and machine wash at 40°C.

    On sizing: the XL (200×140cm) covers most of a queen bed, and the XXL Velvety (200×200cm) covers a queen completely or the main area of a
    king. They're made for a splash or any accident, and everything ships in plain, unbranded packaging.

    Can I use it as a waterproof throw on the sofa or car?

    Absolutely. GripMe is ideal for the car, its non-slip silicone backing keeps it in place on seats and couches, and it protects against spills, pets and everyday messes.

    How do I wash a waterproof blanket?

    Machine wash on a normal cycle up to 40°C. These blankets are absorbent, so add an extra 5–10 minute spin to pull the water out before drying. Then tumble dry on low for under 30 minutes, or line dry. Avoid ironing and high heat, which can damage the waterproof layer.

    Does it feel like plastic or crinkle?

    No. The waterproof TPU layer sits between two soft fabric layers, so what touches your skin is fleece or micro-velvet, not plastic. There's no crinkle or rustle, that's the main difference between our blankets and a standard vinyl mattress protector.

    Can I use it for bedwetting or incontinence?
