I received this Velvety Waterproof Blanket in the Dark Grey colour in the XXL size (200x200cm). It arrived vacuum packed for easier shipping and storage.Before using it, I washed it on a gentle lukewarm cycle with a faster spin setting. It washed well, and although it can be tumble dried on a low heat, I chose to line dry mine due to the large size.I have mainly been using it in the lounge room while relaxing and watching television, but I have also used it over my doona on colder nights for some extra warmth and protection. One of the reasons I wanted this was because I have cats, and occasional accidents can happen, so it’s reassuring having an added protective layer over bedding and furniture.The blanket has a water resistant coating designed to help protect against spills, liquids, sweat, and pet accidents. The material itself feels silky soft and comfortable, with a smooth microfiber polyester finish that gives it quite a luxurious feel considering its practical purpose.It also appears well made overall. My only slight hesitation is that I do feel it’s a little on the expensive side for a polyester style blanket, even allowing for the waterproof feature.That said, if you are someone wanting extra protection for furniture or bedding, especially with pets, children, or general everyday spills, it does provide good peace of mind while still being soft and comfortable enough for everyday use.

It’s a comfortable option for a waterproof blanket, with a bit of weight and thickness to it. It does have that absorbent, protective feel, but it still works as a blanket if you want. I’ve mostly been using it as a base layer on the couch, bed and even the floor for extra protection whenever there’s a chance of a spill – perfect for children. The size is really good as well!

I ordered the black XXL version of this Velvety Waterproof Blanket. Mine measures 2 m × 1.96 m — so marginally undersized, though that could simply be down to manual measurement. Compared to other blankets I own, this one is really heavy, which would make it ideal for someone who enjoys the feel of a weighted blanket. It’s definitely not just for lightweight warmth.I tested the waterproof claim by pouring a cup of water on it. While the surface soaked it up and became quite wet, nothing went through to the underside — a big bonus if you’re using it to protect your bed or sofa from accidental spills. Despite the weight and waterproofing, the blanket has a soft, velvety feel and is completely silent when you move around on or under it — none of the crinkly noise you often get with waterproof layers.Personally, I find it too heavy to use as a regular blanket, so mine will live as a throw — perfect for making the sofa cosy in winter and protecting it from the inevitable spills when the family curl up with hot chocolate.I washed mine before use. It becomes extremely heavy when wet — far too heavy for a regular washing line — so I draped it over the metal frame of our line to be safe. Although the care instructions say to line‑dry in the shade, I wanted it dry in one afternoon and hung it in the sun without any issues. That said, it’s probably not something you’d want to do regularly if you want to preserve the look and integrity of the blanket.It’s also worth noting that the blanket is 96% polyester and 4% polyurethane, so it should be kept well away from heaters, fires, and open flames.

Super impressed with this blanket! For being waterproof, I didn’t expect it to be as soft and comfortable as it is. Purchased this to put on my bed for my dogs to lay on on top of my bedding and it’s beyond perfect and looks super lux too. Also a little surprise scratcher game was fun!
