I spread this Jodhpur Blue throw over my king bed to keep the sheets clean during family movie nights. The fabric feels very fuzzy on the skin, and it does not have that crinkly plastic sound like some other protectors. I often love to curl up on the couch and watch a movie at night under a nice blanket and with a warm drink in my hand. However, you don’t want to laugh at the wrong time (ie with your mouth full of your beverage) or get so into the film that you’re not holding your cup upright, or move too much during the exciting part of the movie, for that’s when the spills occur. Yep, done all those things at some time in the past. Then the clean up and wash up not just of me but the couch and blanket.Well not anymore. Although this blanket looks like a regular blanket, it’s waterproof. It still looks wet when liquid is poured onto it, but it doesn’t penetrate right through the blanket, which means I stay dry and so does my couch.It is plush, cuddly and reasonably soft, but the fibres do have a slightly more coarse feel than a similar plush non-waterproof throw rugs. It’s also very warm to snuggly under.It appears well made – no dangling threads or poorly sewn seams, and no puckering.Is not just great for curling up on the couch, but would be useful when sleeping in a cold unventilated room, where just the moisture from breathing condenses over even the bed clothes (had this happen several times in a caravan). It would also suit an elderly person who suffers from inconsonance if used under the sheet to protect the mattress, or similarly used for younger children, and even pets who love to sit on the furniture or on top of your bed. You could even use it as a picnic blanket if you’re worried the grass may be a little damp, but I think it’s too good for that and I’d rather keep it inside.If accidents do occur, the blanket is machine washable, but I haven’t got that far yet.

It claims to be water proof, and all I saw was some of the water soaking into the blanket.So, I thought, Right! That’s that one busted! But no. The other side was Dry. It stayed dry, even when I pressed down, and rubbed in the wet side. The other side was bone dry!Some of the water ran off, some soaked into the blanket, but the other side remained completely dry. It met its claim.So, you’re lying in bed, imagine, coffee cup in one hand, and, bam! It slips. Hot coffee through to you mattress. Nope. You will have time to clean it up, and still have a dry mattress. The top of the blanket may be wet, but you’ve got time to clear up the mess.This blanket is huge, btw. It’s soft, it’s fluffy, it has some weight to it, and it is warm. It’s easy to clean, and it will keep you dry.The velvety texture is true to it’s look. I am totally blown away with the Velvety Waterproof Sex Blanket. I honestly was a little skeptical when purchasing, but amazing how they work.
